poetry, Black Mark, on November 6th at the opening reception

Poet Paul Kane has selected several poems about Shadow and reads during the Opening and other
times during the Show. He includes his own poem: Shadows.
Robbie Haldane, the Irish waller from Columbia County who gave the very popular stone workshops earlier this year, has
created a stone cairn spilling from the old brick wall of the Gallery
Trish Helmer of Dutchess County has made a series of fetching mechanical “NightMares”,
those equine creatures who visit, at night, in the shadows.
New Hampshire artist AM has built a Shadow Cabinet where she keeps her shadow. She invites you
to look in... perhaps take something, and leave a bit of your own shadow.
New Hampshite artist Laraine Howard is at the Gallery Nov 3-6 making work in hypertufa in
response to the other work in the the Show.
California artist Mary Fullwood works primarily in encaustic. She has made
15 ritual objects using such natural materials as: Sagrada driftwood, beetles, dung, goat hooves,
stone beads, Sagrada feather, stone beads, cord leather, clay beads, elk tooth, hawk wing, old knife, copper, glass beads,
tin disks, Sagrada fish spine, seed rattles, shell, gem stones, abalone.
She is offering a workshop, The Imaginal Doula, on
Friday, November 7 from 10am- noon, and Nonday, November 9 from 10am to noon... where she works with people to make objects

Somna M. Bulist, a composer-performer has created Fragrance of the Blue Lotus, a musical evocation of the primal elements of water,
darkness, hiddenness and infinity. She will perform this as the Closing Ceremony of the Show on Sunday, December
5 at 2 pm at the Gallery. There is a $6 donation requested for Community 2000.

| William Gerbracht Changeable Construction |
William Gerbracht, Westtown, NY, has made a ceramic construction which get built and re-built-constructed
and demolished-- throughout the Show.
The other artists in the show are Robert Kalka, Roger Sayre,
Sally Stang, Monica Serra and Mark Stankiewicz.
Although some of the Show is installation and performance work, there are many pieces of
interesting shadow work available from $40 and up...and there are workshop opportunities during the Show for people to make
Shadow work of their own.

The Shadow Show opens on Thursday, November 4th with an opening reception on Saturday, November
6th from 6-9 pm.
Many artists will be at the reception and several events and performances are planned including
the Building of a Medicine Wheel by David Weiner.
The show runs through Sunday, December 5th . Normal Gallery hours are 10am to 6pm, seven
days a week. Check the website for additional events.
